Caitlin Yount
I've been writing short stories and standard-length novels since I was about six, starting with a 'biography' of my first dog, Goldie: a female golden retriever who died prematurely. Once I started elementary school, I started a series of fantasy stories for the group of children in the grade below me, where they starred. Once compiled (and rewritten more recently) it ran close to 70 pages, with the chapters consisting of each year that I'd written of.
In seventh grade, I started my largest projects, War of the Alliance and The International Immortality League. Both are sci-fi/fantasy fiction; the first being similar to Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien (started after seeing the movies direted by Peter Jackson), and the second being a completely original piece about an epic war between the immortals of Heaven and Hell. They are still works in progress and I hope to have them finished by the time I'm out of college.
I've started many minor projects on the side, though none as long or as extensive as the two stated above. A close third, however, is Caught Between Immortal Lust, a complicated love triangle concerning two immortals, Baylen and Lord Vendal, and a mortal girl, Alaina.

As anyone who might have been keeping up with my website may have noticed, I've started to take down a lot of the stories I've started; leaving only the first chapter or so available for regular reading. The reason for this is that I'm in the process of getting these stories published, and haven't had a chance to copyright them officially yet. Call me paranoid, but that's the way it will probably be from now on. If you want a copy of the unfinished manuscript, those of you who know me know how to get in touch with me and get a copy. Otherwise, send me an email about the manuscript in question and why you want a copy, and I'll get back to you.

The site is going to be on-and-off under maintenance for the next few months; I'm currently in the process of converting a lot of the site to DIV and Flash, and that takes not only a lot of time, work, and patience, but also a lot of trial and error on my part. On top of that, I'll be switching servers hopefully soon, to one that isn't going to destroy my layouts with awful banners and ads. The site will start to be themed more around SLAYER as the publication date draws nearer. I still haven't nailed down a particular date yet, though I'm shooting for January/February-ish. By that time I should hopefully have the new server up, and when the book is published there WILL be an order form on the site for those of you who can't get a copy from me directly. So please bear with me as the site starts heading through these particular changes, and keep an eye out for www.caitlinyount.com! |
